16 Year Streak Likely To Come To An End

A streak that started during the 1992-93 NBA season will likely end this NBA season. Future Hall of Famer, Shaquille O'Neal, is destined to miss the playoffs for the first time ever. Sixteen years straight the 37 year old center has been a familiar face in the NBA playoffs. Averaging just above 25 points and 12 rebounds in the playoffs, the feared and dominate center will likely not be missed by any playoff bound teams this year. Shaq's Phoenix Suns find themselves 4 games back, with 7 games to play. If Shaq and the Suns wish to see the playoffs, they would need to run off a 8 game win streak; and hope the currently 8th seeded Dallas Mavericks play less than .500 ball. Without a doubt, missing the playoffs will have Shaq, a 16 year veteran, in uncharted waters. With one additional year left on his contract, retirement talks probably wont be murmured. But the Big Diesel may be seeing his last days as a perennial playoff fixture.

  1. hey mags thanks for dropping in at the mouse! I don't know if one could say I'm into sports, but I do love college hoops (particularly women's bb) and will never pass up free tickets to a cleveland indians game. of course, I'm a big booster of the cleveland cavaliers and am hoping this year the team can go all the way.

    go huskies!!

  2. Wow you sound like my Hubby. I have been a Shaq fan for sometime, back to the LSU days.

I love New York. I have been there often. The busy city. It's a great place to people watch.

I personally have moved past basketball season and moving on to baseball. The Cubs and the yankees are going to open up at the new Yankee field.
